Modules : all the modules are conceived according to the same multidisciplinary, biomechanical approach, the analysis of the movement, the music, etc....

1st module * / July : The fundamental of the Argentine tango

2nd module / November  : The application of the Fundamental in basic "figures"

3rd module * / February  : The various forms of tour / Specific work for women

4th module * / Easter  : Musicality, Combinations, Communication, Presentation of lesson 1

5th module * / July-August : Improvement of the dance in Buenos Aires / Music / Choreography 1

Year 2

6th module / November : Ganchos, Voleos, Empujadas, Barridas

7th module / Fébruary : Changes of direction, Changes of axes : Volcadas, Colgadas

8th module * / Easter : Musicality / Back Saccadas man and woman / Presentation of lesson 2

9th module * / August : Improvement of the dance in Buenos Aires / Music and Choreography 2

10th module * / August : Preparation and passage examination of Professor of Tango

All the modules can be independently followed from each other, without commitment on a precise duration, nor on all of the formation.

But the obtaining of the final Diploma will require to follow the modules marked *, and knowledge and control of the whole program, that it was entirely followed or not.

A_ Reminders of basic music theory, application towards Argentinean Tango, Milonga and Valse

B_ In-depth analysis of the rhythm of Argentinean Tango, Milonga and Valse, application towards dance

C_ Study of the influence of music while walking: space/time correlation, energy, weight transfer

D_ To be able to distinguish different styles and grand orchestras of Tango

E_ To know how to adapt a dance style to music

E_ Historical lecture of music: the life of great artists**

HISTOIRY

A_ General history of Milonga and Tango music (part 1)

B_ Important dates in the history of Argentina. Influence on music and dance.

BIOMECANIC

A_ Reminder of basic static and dynamic

B_ Brief study of the human anatomy and walking

C_ In-depth study of the particularities of the walk in Argentinean Tango

D_ Application of static and dynamic in the analysis and execution of techniques of Argentinean Tango

A_ Adaptation of all the basic techniques on a dance floor

B_ To learn, analyse and understand the basic techniques related to a turn :

- Medio Giro de derecha 

- Medio Giro de izquierda

- Simple turns with entries

- Variations with entries

- The 12 basic giros and more

 

 

 

EXTERIOR CONTRIBUTORS : several external professors intervene within the Institute, in France, to bring complementary views and styles on the studied techniques

 

 

WEEKS IN BUENOS AIRES

2 weeks of intensive study, practice and discovery of tango in the city

WORK PROGRAM :

A_ Total repeat of the work done at Marseille, insisting on the style, coordination and practice

B_ Application and adaptation of basic techniques

C_ Application of the achievements within the Milongas of Buenos Aires ***

D_ Continuation of the technical courses corresponding to an intermediate level ********

E_ Work specific to Milonga

F_ Work on the adaptation of dance and its interpretation, according to the music.

 

* The communication aspect and pedagogy are taught in 2nd and 3rd year, juridical notions in 2nd year

** The student must read a certain number of reference books

*** The student must commit to a certain number of observations during their visits within the Milongas and the areas in relation with Argentinean Tango in the city

**** The choice of the figures belongs to Hernan Villegas depending on the level of each group, giving that each year the standards of the final level will be the same at the end of the first five weeks. Tests will be done regularly, conditioning entry into the next year.
